Stadtwerk Winterthur is using Adaptricity.Sim

Stadtwerk Winterthur invited tenders for the procurement of a new network simulation tool in 2018. Adaptricity's software solution prevailed and was awarded the contract. In the meantime, the rollout has taken place. Adaptricity.Sim is in use at Stadtwerk Winterthur and is linked to all surrounding systems such as GIS and measurement databases.

With Adaptricity.Sim, Stadtwerk Winterthur has introduced a network software for time-series based network simulation and analysis as a company-wide tool for all network planning and network analysis activities. In addition to these time-series based simulations, functionalities such as load flow, short circuit, connection requests, protection calculations, absorption capacity, stress test, etc. are directly applicable for all network areas without additional effort.

Thanks to the integration of several surrounding systems such as GIS and measurement data systems, all required network and measurement data are seamlessly available at any time in a non-person-related form for network planning and analysis. As an integrated system, the software maps the entire low-voltage network models of Stadtwerk Winterthur in high quality every day.

The project with Stadtwerk Winterthur and the municipal IT department was also very instructive and valuable for Adaptricity. As a result, both sides came to a very positive conclusion : "The integration project went very well and has already brought us great benefits, which has clearly exceeded our expectations. Stadtwerk Winterthur will receive noticeable added value in the future with the data from the Adaptricity software," say Andreas Lanz and Helen Reist from Stadtwerk Winterthur. And Nicolas Stocker, project manager at Adaptricity, adds: "In close cooperation between Adaptricity and Stadtwerk Winterthur, existing functionality was improved and new functionality was added. The main achievement lies in the continuous and automated use of various data types for network calculations. At the same time, an ideal basis for future usage scenarios with more measurement data was created."

With Adaptricity.Sim, Stadtwerk Winterthur benefits from a platform including a data pipeline that enables faster and more detailed analyses in the medium and low voltage network.
